Trash & Recycling Information

TRASH PICK-UP GUIDELINES

Pick Up Times

• Trash must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on trash day.

• Trash will not be collected on holidays observed by the town offices.

• Holidays delay trash collection by one day.

Trash Limits Per Week/Per Household

• Medway residents voted for a “Pay As You Throw” system of trash collection

• Only trash in specially printed yellow Medway trash bags will be collected curbside.

• A 30-gallon bag costs $1.50 and a 15-gallon bag costs $.75

• Yellow trashbags can be purchased at:

  Anne’s Market, Medway
  Condon’s Hardware, Medway
  Cumberland Farms, Medway
  The Little Store, Medway
  Paul’s Shell, Medway
  Victory Supermarket, Milford
  Roche Bros, Millis
  Star Market, Medway
  Walgreens, Medway

• Place trash in yellow bags.

• Bags may be placed in trash receptacle no larger than 35-gallons and not weighing more than 50 pounds. Bags may not exceed 3” over the lip of the barrel.

• One large item free per week such as couch, chair, mattress

• Carpet, wood, etc must be bundled in 4’ lengths.

CURBSIDE RECYCLING GUIDELINES

General

• Recycling Bins can be purchased at the Board of Health Office in Medway Town Hall for $7.00 each.

• Bin #1 is for paper and cardboard

• Bin # 2 is for Co-mingled material: Glass, aluminum & plastic containers, metal/tin cans.

• Keep paper separate from commingled items.

• Rinse all containers.

Metal and Appliance Pick-Up.

• Pick-ups are done on Tuesdays.

• Please call us to schedule a pick-up one week in advance at 800-248-8898 or complete the email form to submit a pick-up request.

• Items must be on the curb by 7 a.m. on Tuesdays.
